Café Hummel is one of the long-established institutions of Vienna’s coffeehouse scene. Located on Josefstädter Straße in the 8th district, it combines traditional Viennese comfort with elegance, humour and charm. Today, owner Christine Hummel runs the family coffeehouse in its third generation. The café is also well known throughout Vienna for its excellent kitchen.
A Viennese Melange always seems to taste especially good at Café Hummel. Whether you sit inside the traditional café or outside in the sunny pavement garden, it is an inviting place to spend some time.
Alongside Melange, Café Hummel serves many other classic Viennese coffee specialities, including ristretto, macchiato and Kaffee Verkehrt. The breakfast menu is equally generous: guests can enjoy breakfast until 11:00 on weekdays and even until 14:00 at weekends.
One local speciality worth trying is the typically Viennese “Mayonnaise-Ei”, which is available throughout the day and pairs perfectly with your favourite coffee.
